About Malanda Warner
As a child, I dreamed of living in a white Victorian house on an acreage surrounded by lush gardens and plenty of animals. That dream became a cherished reality in the magnificent Okanagan Valley and is the source of my creative inspiration.
I am a self taught artist with a desire to create images that will lead the viewer into an environment of tranquility, beauty and the calm of a simpler life. A place where you can escape the chaos of the world, if only for a moment.
While raising a family and engaged in a career of Interior Design, I enjoyed spending any spare time working in a variety of artistic mediums, as well as, teaching both Interior Design Courses and Art Classes at Okanagan University College and Vernon Community Arts Centre. In 2002 I pursued my passion of painting and developed a love of watercolours and acrylics, creating many works through the following years of subjects that were near and dear to my heart.
My creativity hit a roadblock for a few years while my husband was battling cancer and part of our home was destroyed due to water damage. Thankfully, with Gods grace, we overcame those challenges and I have a renewed determination to express and share the natural and marvellous beauty of His creation.
Welcome to my world. Special thanks to my husband, children, grandchildren and extended family for your continued support and encouragement.
