Artist's Description
Ponderosa Pines are native to the Southern Interior region of British Columbia, Canada. They are the tallest known pine in North America growing to an average height of 98 feet, although some can reach up to 163 feet. They can live 400 - 500 years. This majestic towering tree is located near the entrance to Coldstream Creek Park. This perishing ponderosa with its winding branches reaching towards heaven was just beckoning to be immortalized on canvas.

The rich blue tones of the sky caught my eye right away. I like how they wash over the other colors just enough to leave strong hints of yellows, oranges, and greens. Awesome!
