Oh dear, wishing you all safety! Hope it rains soon!
Malanda Warner replied:
Liesl, thank you for your thoughts. We are all good, just enduring a lot of smoke and haze in the air. A little rain in the forecast for Thursday, just hoping it doesn't come with lightning.

Wow, Malanda, 106 is high temperature! We generally stay around 90-92 with the temperature fluctuating only a few degrees each week. Hopefully you will get some rain soon for the forest fires! We had a drought here this spring and it wasn't green, but thankfully we are in the rainy season now, getting rain almost every afternoon (typical for Florida), so all is green now.
Malanda Warner replied:
We haven't had rain in weeks so it is extremely dry! The newest fire began today about a 30 minute drive south of us where my son and fiancé were housesitting, they were just evacuated and crating extra animals to our place.

Hi Malanda- I just read your response about the heat and humidity. Lately it has been 91 degrees here in Florida with 77 percent humidity, it can get into the 80's humidity. A low humidity day here is around 40 percent, but it can get lower in the winter during our dry season.
Malanda Warner replied:
Wow, that is high, explains why everything stays so green in spite of the heat! Our temperatures have reached 106 degrees in the last few weeks but the humidity is relatively low compared to yours (currently 29) and everything is scorching! Currently there are several out of control forest fires burning in the province!

Wow, that is hot like Florida! I've learned to work early or late in the day in weather like that. It's been in the high 80's here but high humidity.
Malanda Warner replied:
Silly site, just happened across this comment that never showed up in the Activity Stream! I try to get out early too but if I don't I'm usually to tired in the evening after a long day of heat! I suppose the humidity is higher in Florida, ours was around 22% today.

Wonderful summer image, hope your garden is doing well this year! :-)
Malanda Warner replied:
Thanks Liesl, everything is growing great, including the weeds :( 90 + degrees lately, too hot to work in it!
