Description
The deep red peony is most prized in China and Japan and has strong symbolism in Eastern culture. It has strong ties to honor and respect and also indicative of wealth and prosperity in those cultures. They are one of my favorite flowers with thick ruffled blooms that are easily grown and return year after year.

The plaid ribbon is wonderful here, Malinda; a pretty adornment that adds a mixture of soft colours to the swirls of pastel leaves. I love the delicate petals of the peony & you have painted the fragile fulllness of this bloom beautifully! :))
